12 Free Places to Visit in Chicago

Who doesn’t love saving money? As summer is approaching and schools are coming to an end, budgeting spending to hang out with friends and family can become a hassle. Between transportation, food, and events, finding ways to save money would be a blessing in disguise. 

As the weather starts to get warm, people will want to get some sun, catch up with friends, go out with family, and be out and about. No one wants to be stuck indoors, especially when there are places to see and money to save. 

It’s safe to say that a lot of us believe we have to spend some money to have fun. Fortunately, there are places in Chicago that have free admission and offer programs and events that are enjoyable for everyone. 

Choose Chicago came out with a list of free museums and attractions available and below is a map of 12 places worth visiting.


Most of the places are located in the 42nd ward and the 43rd ward, which are neighborhoods in the near north side of Chicago. These areas are known to attract tourists, meaning that some of these places, like Navy Pier and Millennium Park, will soon start offering special events and programs to attract people. 

Get ready to save some money, while still having a fun time.
